Default Tire talk

I'm still using stock 245/75R16. I do some 4-wheeling on the beach and don't have much of a problem if I drop down to 20psi. It's time for new rubber. Anyone have suggestions for a better tire size than stock but still keeping the same rims? Thanks, Todd

I run 265/75/16 altho they are stock for my truck due to having the towing package. Some guys run 285 but there are a few that claim they rub at full turn. I just stick with my 265's because they are big enough for stock height and i wont have a lift until later this summer.

I was thinking of going to the 265's on my next tire purchase. I thought they might allow me to drive on the beach without having to drop down to 20 psi. Thanks, Todd

Even with 265's you will still drop the air down for the beach. The tire width will only change by maybe a half inch. Even with my 12.5's I still drop the air down to around 25-30 on the beach depending on the sand that day.

I was able to run 305/70R16s on my stock 3/4 ton rims. Only rubbing I encountered was at full turn and going up a curb at the same time.

I had 33's on stock wheels, they only rubbed on the lower control arm fully turned. Now the tires were down to the wear bar so they were proyll only 31's. When I get brand new 33's on my new rims I rub on the front wheel well plastic when fully turned, but ONLY bcuz whoever had the truck b4 me hit something and moved the bumper back one inch on the passenger side.
