Default leak? question

the other day i pulled into my driveway and shut my truck off...1995 5.9L ram 1500...i saw a little bit of smoke come from under it and smelt something burning...couldnt assign the smell to oil or coolant or anything. so i jumped underneith to take a look and there was a drip mark of some sort on the down pipe. i looked around for something leaking and i couldnt see anything. everything underneith (oil pan, tranny pan, block, ect.) looked dry. all my fluid levels are fine. any ideas? maybe a leak from somewhere i cant see? this one is over my head, a drip on the exhaust, a burning smell, all fluids full but no leaks doesnt make sense to me. make sense to anyone else?

Default RE: leak? question

How far back on the exhaust?

Could be a leaking valve cover.

Could be a slow leak higher in the transmission.
