auto tranny downshift

Default auto tranny downshift

Will it hurt an auto transmission if you downshift it on the column to slow down??

LOL!!! I've never done taht in my truck. Almost tore one out like that not in a dodge. Did it in a 73 stingray, was goin about 65 and meant to just go down to 2nd....it dropped down to 1 and locked the back tires up...

haha, how'd you ever guess? it was my first car, i gave it hell....ran the guts outta the poor thing. ended up with coolant shooting out of the intake manifold and parts hanging down below it after hitting a deer...

1st gear at 70mph caused me to have to replace a cylinder head [:@] and i still dont know why it shifted ?

Shiftng down will help save the rotors. Here in mountains of the northeast, it is a must.
