Hi, I looked for something on superchargers on here but didn't find what I was looking for. I've got a '98 ram with a 318. I was looking at centerfugal(i think thats how it spelled) superchargers. if i put one on my truck will it mess up my computer? I was told that i would have to reprogram the entire computer. what do ya'll think?

Default RE: supercharger?

Most centrifrugal s/c kits are intended for completely stock motors. If you have a stock computer it will run it fine. Better kits will involve boost timing retard (non intercooled kits) inline fuel pumps and fmu's to add fuel under boost. If you have a few mods including an MP PCM you must run an MSD BTM (or similar ign. retard) The 12.91 pass I ran last October was my first full blown pass. I had a stock computer in for the run and it was able to run my 360 with cai, tb, m1/2bbl, cam and 1.7rr with 24lb injectors while making 7psi boost. Under boost fmu/inline pump keeps the a/f ratio in a happy place (12.0:1)

PS. welcome aboard!
