Fuel Filter
The filter is part of the fuel pump assembly, which is in the gas tank. You can drop the tank to replace the "sock" that's on the pump, but you'd be better off replacing the whole pump as long as you went through all the trouble to get it out. Afterall, it's going to fail...eventually
in most cases, dropping the tank is easy. it depends on if you can get the bolts broke loose for the tank straps, if you can, drop the tank once it's near empty. there is a DIY writeup in the DIY forum on how to swap the fuel pump, the filter is on the bottom of the pump and is generally not serviceable. you could yank the pump and clean it as much as you can but in general it's a "lifetime" filter...
run some techron fuel additive thru it, seafoam also will work as well as BK-44 fuel injector cleaner. if you run them thru enough, the filter may clean itself.
