Default 97 RAM transducer / solenoid help

My 97 RAM 1500 5.2 is not starting out in 1st gear. I can get it into 1st manually while at a stop only. Overdrive works fine. CEL is throwing P1792 and P1794 codes and stealership says the transmission solenoid and transducer might be bad. How hard is it to replace them and where are they. What's involved in adjusting the bands. I plan to drop the pan and change the filter. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Dropping the pan is the worst of it. Bands or replacing solenoids. Get a book, or even better, get a Transgo shift kit. It comes with a video that will walk you through it. The solenoid replacement will become evident, but you may want to double check on the band adjustment (# of turns). On that part, the video didn't agree with either the Haynes book or the service manual (Merry Christmas sticky), wich both agreed
