I'm pretty sure the connections are the same, so you should jst be able to unplug the 94 radio and put the 98 rite back in place of it. The reason I say this is bcuz on the wiring connector I got for my cd player, it says it works on 94-03 rams. This wont work if one has the infinity system and the other doesnt. Why do you want to change them anyway?
After thinking, the connector that goes into the back of the radio may be different......I would jst go ahead and see what happens. The dash are real easy to get off and it would take no time at all to see if it works.

I can't say for sure, but once you have both the radios out you should be able to tell whether or not they'll work.

I know for the longest time Chrysler used the same plugs no matter what options you had. I have a radio out of a 93 Grand Caravan (with the Infinity package) in my '79 Ramcharger. It bolted right in...plugged right in...it was perfect! Too bad they didn't keep doing it that way [>:]

Hey,
The radios may not look the same but the connections are!!! I think Dodge is smart for using the same connections for so long, most, if not all, of their radios have the same connections in the back, makes it easy for us folks swapping out stereos a lot. The only thing that they have changed recently is the faceplate, now they have rounded edges instead of the square ones, but the connections are still the same. As for the infinity systems, as Burning Rom said, they do work, the extra amps are exterior to the radio. The only difference is there's an extra wire in the harness, if it doesnt have a mate, then just that part of the system doesnt work. I have an '89 dodge infinity stereo out of our caravan in my '99 ram right now, but i don't have the external amps, so that pin in the stereo just doesn't have a mate in the harness, no problem. Hope this helps, sorry for the rambling.

even if the connections weren't the same, the hookup is quite simple, and you'd definately be able to throw your 98 stereo into a 94.

There is a change up on the right hand upper bracket, some are on the side, others are on the top corner.

Be a ware of that

other than that they are the same
