Differential Dana spicer 60? Help
Good morning , i write to you from Venezuela, i have a truck DODGE RAM 2500 5.9L. here i place some picture.
I have a problem, my spider gear rear are destroyed. Then i have bought NO-SLIP DE POWERTRAX, but it doesn't fit in my differential housing (p/n 92-0460-3220). i bought it thinking that my differential was dana spicer 60, 32 spline, traclock. Now, my questions are:
1 - how can i identify my rear differential ?
2 - Which are the measures of the differential housing in dana spicer 60?, does mine measure are APROX 11"X 16?"
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Your axle model SHOULD be listed in one of these three places...
1. Tag on you driver's side door frame
2. Label on the underside of your hood
3. Label on the inside of your glovebox
There should also be a tag bolted to your differential cover.

That #5 pic is very odd, a shortbox 2500 regular cab with what appears to be 5 lug wheels. Up here the only shortbox 2500 is also a Quad or extended cab. A "60" is cast into the lower right hand corner of the housing. Check this out for the casting location and Dana bill of material numbers (BOM) http://www.louisvilleoffroad.com/Dan...bers-sp-1.html

I missed the 5 lug pattern when looking at the pictures the first time. Chrysler DID put 9.25s and Dana 44s under some 3/4 ton trucks. I believe they may have also had a lighter duty Dana 60 that used a 5 lug pattern. If this truck has one of those axles, it would make sense...seeing as it's a shortbox, it wouldn't need the hauling capacity of a longbox.

Yep, that certainly appears to be a 5 lug semi floating Dana 60. Don't know why the Powertrax doesn't fit, their catalog says it should work on any Dana 60- a 5 lug in a musclecar, a 60F or rear 60.
