Urgent Help!!!
Hey guys,
I was sitting at sonic geting some food when i went to start my car, the fuel level gauge stayed at empty and the gas light came on, the day before i filled the tank up, so i let it sit and restarted the truck and the same thing happened. After that i went to wal-mart and when i started the truck it was fine. Could it be the fuel pump or a sensor ?

i might be the sensor. mine crapped out on me too. ill fill it up and the gauge will go up and then like as soon as something moves it drops back down and the light comes on. really pita!!![:@]
I'm guessing the sending unit is part of the fuel pump...which is in the gas tank. That's the way the GMs are, and thinking back now, I'm almost positive the Ram is the same way. [:'(] That's why they tell you to make sure your gas gauge reads correct before you reinstall your tank with the new pump in it.
The Burning Rom is correct...fuel pump, sending unit, fuel filter is all one unit inside the gas tank.

IIRC, www.chryslerpartsdirect.com has the best price on them. It was better than what I paid at the local parts store anyway...for the same Carter pump the dealer sells (just without the pentastar logo).
EDIT: I guess ebay does have the better prices. Chryslerpartsdirect is $265. IIRC, I paid $290 for the Carter that I put in from Bumper To Bumper.
