Werid starting question

Default Werid starting question

I own a 1995 ram truck and have not had any starting problems so far... but the past couple mouths when ever its a large variation in temp like 70 to 30 when i try to start it the check engine light blinks on and off.. i can get it started if i time the turn over right but when i get it started the engine kicks out when ever the light comes on.. sry if i didnt expolain it good i tried and if u got any ? ask.. also if i wait for lk 10 15 minutes and try it again it starts up and runns lk a champ.. thanks

thats the thing there isnt one.. i brought it in and they put ti on a scanner and it didnt registure at all.. thjats why its so weird.. the guy said it may be a thermotiure(sp) i think that what he said.. i figured you guys on te forum would kno more than the guy there.. it wasnt a dodge dealer so i might just hjave to bring it to them...

Did he maybe say thermostat? I don't see how that would cause the motor to shutdown.

There maybe isn't an active code being set, but there should be a stored code if the light is kicking on. Try the method in the link I posted above and see if it comes up with anything.

i did that and it came up w/ a code from 6 mouths ago when i replaced my tranny.. so that cant be it or at least shouldnt.. and a code 12 and i have perfect connection

o and it wasnt a thermostate.. i know that sint it cuz that would make it over heat i tihnk.. but he said something lk that were it reads the temp out side and tell the computer what to put certain things to... thats what he said i trust oyu opinion more so any help would help...
