My transmission went out this morning. I drove 400 miles yesterday and last night pulled out of my hotel this morning pulled up to the red light , light turned green hit the gas herd a clunk sound truck died. Truck fired up put into gear no movement no noise nothing pulled to shop they say the front pump went out no pressure. They want 2k for a new tranny with 12 & 12 warranties $2784 out the door. I'm 400 miles away from home in SE GA a friend of mine made a few call I can get one from a running truck salvage yard $800 with a 90 warranty or another friend of his owns a tranny shop and he will rebuild for a $1000. I hope this is true that would be great but I don't see a rebuild for 1K. Truck has 95,454 miles on it just had it serviced 3 weeks ago and put a cooler on it was told it looked go no metal in the pan. What are the prices you guys have found on rebuilds or new trans?
