Default electricized rear windows..

anyone ever thought about making their rear side windows motorized? i'd love to do that mod rather than having to climb to open them up.

you know like in the old town and country's where they had two switches and you could open the far rear windows.

any thoughts?

and yes if i do it i'd post up pics.

There was a guy that did it to his 2nd gen extended cab Dakota. I remember reading about it in one of the Mopar magazines back in the 90s. He used the hardware from a Caravan IIRC. I believe the magazine was Mopar Muscle. I have to go through the stack that I have one of these days. If I come across it, I will let you know more.

I wish there would be a way we can bring the two rear windows down like the front.

well yeah i was thinking about using the ones from the caravan, and i'd be willing and wanting to do the work (mechanical engineer and all that). just wondered if anyone here had done it.

thanks for the idea to look in mopar muscle i'll have to search through some back issues or something see if i can find it.

yeah you could make the windows go down into the doors.. but that would be a rediculus amount of work... just go out and get a new mega cab.. they do it.

now that you talk about having the rears slide.. got me thinking about something else i could do. i could make them slide... wouldn't be too much work.. some rails.. a linear actuator.. it could be done......

bad idea to get me thinking....

I tried that on my '95..I had it working good - but all the hardware/mounting looked stupid so I took it off.
I also thought about making my tailgate electronic - then later I saw kits to buy to do that - never did go through with it though.
