Default New owner, saying hey and two questions

Hey all, i just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram Sport 1500 single cab, short bed. Its 4x4, 5spd, 33"tires, Rancho shocks, 62000miles, cruise, pioneer cd player, power everything and a tint job. i paid $9650, from what ive heard thats a good price, what do you guys think? its in rediculously good clean shape, looks almost brand new.

and secondly i found one item on the truck that i cant figure out what its for, theres a switch inside the dash pocket beside the radio. and when i flip it on these two lights right behind the fog lights come one, they point at the same point right on the ground in the center of the truck under the engine. you cant really see the lights when in the cab. Anyone know what these are for?

thanks in advance!

Hey welcome to dodge forum!!!! if theres anything i can do for you feel free to PM me and ill do my best to help you out. That does sound like a good price for the stuff its got in it. if you can throw up a pic, we would all love to see it. the light switch your talking about, does it look factory, ive never heard of that before and i think its aftermarket. almost seams that they are what they call ROCK lights for when you go 4 wheeling at night your spotter can see under your truck. if you can get a pic of that too.

rocklights, interesting.. . hey.. maybe thats what I should do.. take some foglights and convert them to engine lights.. so that if I ever have problems at night, I've got light to work with.

Or...go find a set of "reel" lights from an old GM. I have a metal set mounted on the underside of my Ramcharger hood and wired up to my switch box inside. The light sits in a bracket, but you can slide it out and unwind 4 or 5ft of wire that's stored inside it and set it wherever you need it. Makes things a LOT easier to work on in the dark

thanks tani! its really beautiful. this is my first truck and im so used to keeping vehicles from getting dirty and cleaning them all the time. im just gonna have to get over that so i can use this 4x4!! ive wanted this exact ram since the day they came out with this body style and i finally own one! i got really lucky and got a good job and can finally afford one.

ill have to just tune myself on keeping the interior mint looking (as it is right now) so i can dirty her up on the outside in the mud!

yeah it may take a little bit for me to get to where i can deal with messing up the paint and all, but ill muddy her up in my brother-in-law's field when we go shoot skeet

Oh and i forgot to mention in the first post that in edition to the Sport package the truck also has the Off-Road Package

i do want to try to go on some calmer trails that i can use my 4x4 on, then who knows! like you said i may get addicted and go all out with it!
