Default SMOKIN NEED HELP

picked up a 94 ram 4x4 5 speed from a guy. i trade him my beatup r6 for it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWA%3APIC

that's the truck right there.

as you can see she has 206,600 (now) miles on it. it runs good. (he said it didnt smoke once started up, who knows he mighta lied). starts up.. has leaky valve seals (so some smoke on startup) that smoke clears right up until she warms up then she starts to smoke a lil again. i cant tell if it's coolant or oil. i doubt it's oil bc i've been keeping a close eye on it.

since i got the truck i threw in some 15w40 diesel oil, engine restore, some stop leak (supposed to help with worn head gaskets)

i have only driven the truck maybe 15 miles since throwing in the stop leak so it's hard to see if there is any improvement. my buddy thinks it's burning some antifreeze as well. it doesnt over heat although the temp occasionally flutuates (not in the red though, just goes a lil high when idling around in the heat i turn on the heater comes down in 2 seconds. haha then i turn off the heater and it runs right mid the whole time)... and it runs strong as well.

is there a way to tell what it's burning simply?

also where is a cheap place to get a replacement 318 for the truck. ill drive this one till it blows then just throw a new one in. unless a rebuild is cheaper?

since getting the truck i replaced the plugs, pcv valve and cleaned out the crank case breather can thing on the valve cover. changing the plugs made it come off idle a lot better when in 1st.

thanks guys

Kyle

check the plenum gasket, look down the butterflies in the throttle body to see if there is any oil pooling in the bottom of the intake

www.chryslerpartsdirect.com seems to have just about every OEM part ever made for all crysler, dodge, and plymouth vehicles. also a local junk yard would be able to get you a used (maybe from a wrecked) 318. but it definetly would be cheaper than forking out for a brand new engine.

you might consider doing a 360 swap if you want some more power.
