front end question

Hey i've been wondering something for a very long time about the 2nd Gen. Ram. is the front axle (on 4wd models) solid or independent on the 1500?

I have a solid Dana 44 underneath my 98 QuadCab 1500.

Solid...all 4x4 2nd generation Rams were solid axle.

3rd generation 3/4 ton and 1 ton Rams are still solid axle.
