Default check engine light and acid questions

OK fellas I have two questions here is the first: My check engine light came on yesterday and I was wondering if it would come on for any routine maintance, like a trans flush. It seems to be driving just fine. Second in a moment of pure genious I had a battery from my boat in the back of my truck and it tipped over and cracked leaking battery juice all over the bed. My paint is now pealing off does anyone know what I could use to make sure it is neutralized so it doesnt eat threw the metal? I think im just going to reprime it and have a spray in put in.

Not sure on the battery acid, but the CEL could definitely be for something wrong with your truck...even if you don't notice it. What year is your truck?

Baking soda on the acid for sure...sprinkle it all over the acid, then take a spray bottle of water and mist it, you don't want too much water to flood the soda off...let it sit for a minute, then rinse and repeat until no more foam/bubbling occurs.
