Can anyone tell me, who has done it, how do I remove the dash bezel on my 98 fullsize Ram, to access the radio, cluster, etc? I've been told it "just pops off", but, I'm afraid of breaking something. Any hidden screws, etc.? Thanks, Paul, Pa.
Yeah, best way is to grab it right behind the steering wheel and kind of "Pop" it towards you. This will get it started, then just follow the frame around the rest of it pulling out on it. Couple of screw hold the radio in.
ive poped mine on and of so many time messing with the radio that ive busted mine up pretty good. and in 12 wrecking yards one to replace it was hard to find recently. So be careful.........
no screws. it literally just pops off. i lower the drink holder, tilt the steering wheel down, and pop the shift lever (on my automatic) out a bit. grab it by the part right above the drink holder and just pull the corner up. it will just pop. just little metal clips in plastic holes holding it on.
yup doing the whole own radio thing teaches ya a bit about the ole "just pops off"
DC changed the Ram interiors in 1998. They differ from the 97 and earliers in more way than one. The only two things you have to do to remove it is remove the screw that is located right next to the accessory outlet. Then tilt your steering column down. Another thing that will ease removal is putting the transmission in LOW (presuming you have an A/T and not a stick shift) When I remove my bezel, I start at either the left or right sides and just slowly work your way in. It just pops out. Try not to bend it around too much in removing it. It is plastic after all!!
