Default RE: fuel guage

I just fixed my 96 by doing the following. Originally I replaced the module (contains the pump, check-valve, filter and level sending) and corrected the "extended cranking" (check valve) problem but ended up with zero fuel level when it got below 1/2. Using the old module as a test bed, I tested the level sending IAW my Haynes manual Chapter 4A. What I found was little or no contact of the "points." By cleaning the surfaces and adjusting the contacts angle, I was able to achieve consistant contact throughout the range of float arm movement. I then confirmed the repair with my OHM meter IAW the manual.
Be sure to take all the recommended precautions when removing the tank and module.
This is how.
