Hey guys im 17 almsot 18 I know alot about bikes but hardly any thing about trucks so Any help would be great!!! My big Brother turned me to this site he has a dodge ram 1500.

Anyway down to it I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 no mods or anything done it yet. Ive had some bad expierences with cars....and bikes.... mostly my fault tho so I figured I'd try a truck =P

Im going to get Dual Flowmasters Ran tomorrow my big bro said it would sound great! and put on a K&N air filter
I want some bigger tires but not huge because of gas and I want to raise my truck maybe 3inchs.
I want to get the brush gaurd for it and blackouts for the lights (think theyre called blackouts or ufos or somethin..)
I'd like to get some nerf bars to.
Better looking Grill.

Any suggestions would be great even if theyre bad lol just some help on gettin me to the right track thanks guys!!

Welcome to DF!

I have some suggestions. Don't go too large on the exhaust piping. It will hurt your performance. Also, pretty much any tire increase is going to hurt your gas mileage...especially any that you'd have to add lift for What tires you can run depends just as much on your gear ratio as it does on how much space you have to fill in your fenderwells.

well i wouldnt go up more than 2 sizes.....and as far as pipe, i'd stay at factory, between 2.5 and 3 inches.

285 would be the max I'd go on tires. 265 if all you have for gears is 3.55s.

As far as pipe, if you're going true duals, I'd go with 2.5" for a 318. 3" for a 360. I'd also add an H pipe or X pipe somewhere in there. Much better sound and performance!
