Default air conditioning cutting out?

I own a 1998 dodge ram 1500 pick up with appx.97,000 miles on it. I have been noticing that when I have my air conditioning on, that it will cut out completly when I have to accelerate. Does anyone know what this could be or has anyone had this happen to them?? Please help!

its really common what you need is a vacuum check valve on the line that goes to your blend door accuator. its the littel line that goes through the firewall infront of the passenger. I had the same problem till i put the check valve in. I will try to find a mopar number and get back to ya with it. But any cheap check valve from autozone or oreillys will work.

It is NORMAL for your AC to shut off when you accelerate! Almost EVERY car/truck does this.

It is NOT normal for your AC to swtich vents when you accelerate. If the air goes from the dash to your defroster, then there is a bad check vavle or vacuum leak as TPSDODGE stated.
