broke header bolt
put 2 nuts on the stud, tighten them together and wrench off the inner nut. that is the easiest way to get them off. if your threads are damaged then get a bunch of nuts and expect to toss them when your done.
Pipe (monkey) wrench. It will either come out or snap off for good. Then you get to drill it out and tap the hole. The chances of getting it out with an "EZ-Out" once you snap it off with a pipe wrench are remote so I won't even suggest it.
Are you doing this from above or below the motor?

wont work steve I have already screwed the threads on the stud up to bad. Any other thoughts though,

if that doesnt work or for some reason you cant do it, drill a small hole in the center of the stud and get an easy out to pull it out. that may be difficult since your working on a head that's mounted to the block. another thing you may try in addition to the dye/re-thread thing is to get a can of cold spray and freeze the bolt as much as you can, then re-spray it with the liquid wrench. repeat this a couple of times and it may allow the lub in between the threads making it easier to remove.
I dont know if heating it up will work or not since it's already seen high temps while in use. one thing that may work if you do use heat would be to drill down the center of the stud, heat it up then shoot freeze spray in the center of the stud (down the hole), this may thermal shock it loose.
on that heating subject... i tried it and it didnt work.. gotta remember your trying to heat up a harnded head.. its not gona expand as much as you need it to
i ended up drilling and tapping mine... its nerve racking though since its the head and everything... if all else fails you could pull the head and heli coil it..
its a bitch to work on that side in the engine bay..i wish i would bit the bullet and pulled my head to fix mine..

the reason heat doesnt work is your expanding 2 metals which is going tomake it tighter... heat one, cool the other and it may break free. if you rapid cool the stud, it may be able to break free some of the rust holding it togehter so the blaster stuff can do it's thing.
Probably not enough room to do this, but get a nut and put it on the top if the bolt (don't thread). Now weld the inside of the nut to the stud. Heat it and wrench it off. Like I said, probably won't work for this application but its saved me a few times. Works like a charm
wow man, keep us posted on how it turns out.
I have these locking header bolts on my ram.... I have borla headers and sprung for the locking bolts.... then one of my header gaskets started leaking a while later... WHAT A PAIN TO get it out... luckily I didn't break it cause it is sounding like a real PAIN to fix....
If everyone here is out of ideas, maybe you should, as much as it sucks, bring this to a mechanic shop to fix...

alright guys, here is my plan for tommorow, i went and picked up an ez out at autozone. So i am going to tap and little hole in the middle and then drill a 5/16 hole then put the ez out in and see if it will come out. I have soaked it in pb blaster tonight maybe that will loosen it up. Ill let yall know
