Default Poor Acceleration

What would cause my truck to accelerate slow? It runs fine and all, but If I step on it, it just crawls. Theres no ooomph.
its a 2k1 with a 318. Any ideas would be great.

Sounds like it may be a torque converter. tranny prob. Check the fluid, see if it's burnt. Assuming you have an auto. If it's manual, I'd look at the clutch. Good luck.

Maybe a clogged cat. Also, what size tires are you running?

I agree with Silver, may be your tire size, I know my truck has more oompf that what it does but I am running larger/wider tires and it can seriously cut down on power. Torque converter problems would be more evident, you would definately feel a tranny issue, and probably wouldnt hurt to replace cat with a high flow one.

Thanks for the replies, I think Im going to try the cat first. If the torque converter was the problem, what would be some signs if its evident? My truck is an automatic. Sometimes it seems to have more ooomph then others, but to put it in perspective, my Explorer accelerates faster.

My truck shifts fine, theres no slipping no weird noises (just the tires going vvvvvvvvvvvvvv). Do we still think the cat?

Definitely check the Cat. Mine was doing the same thing, and I replaced the Cat with a Magnaflow. Fixed it right up.
