hey everyone, i am wondering how hard it is to replace my u joint? i just recently have bought this truck and when i bought it had a broken u joint on the passengers front side. about how much will a shop charge me to replace this? or am i better off doing it on my own, even though i have no idea how........ thanks for any advice.

 

It's realy simple if you can turn a wrench you can do it yourself. If you have a repair manual it is easier. Here is what I used when I did mine. The only problem I had was getting the hub out of the knuckle pretty rusted so make sure you have a big hammer and make sure you use some antiseize on it when you put it back together. It's a little akward putting it back in so have someone help you to keep the axle from contacting the axle tube and make sure you clean everything before you put it back together there will be alot of crap in the tube.
