Default Help with ball joint spindle

The spindle on the ball turn with the nut when I try to loosen it, any tips on getting it off? Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Cut it off with a Dremel/cut-off wheel/torches since you get a new nut with a new ball joint.

Default RE: Help with ball joint spindle

I recently had that problem when i installed my lift. The ball joint shaft spun when i backed off the castle nut. Solution is tighten the castle nut to re-seat the balljoint in the spindle, effectivly pressing it back into its taper. Then just back it off. The compression of the spindles hole on the shaft of the ball joint is what lets you back it off. the new ball joints should be tight enough to not give you problems.

Heres a pic of my 1996 2wd 3" susp + 3" body lift
