RE: Question on base timing, pinging, Hypertech
I used a drill bit the same size as the current whole and slotted both wholes going one way so all you could do is have it in the stock position or advaced position. The rubber grommet you leave out because it will end up in the way and you won't be able to move the sensor. This mod I think made the biggest performance difference for me, but it might have just complimented everything else that I have done to.

I never had much luck getting a drill bit to cut on the side of the shaft, although it would depend on how hard the material is that you are going through. Of course, I don't own good quality bits, so that might make a difference. Thank you for your reply Magicdssman, I appreciate your help.

Just a quick update, to advance the timing, the sensor should be moved towards the oil filter. Here is the reference I found:

RE: Question on base timing, pinging, Hypertech
I guess I was referencing the Hypertech website, where they mention using either 87 octane or 93 octane gas. I usually only buy regular for my vehicles which I know is 87 octane. I put the 89 octane in my truck to use with the hypertech program. I may be wrong about the 93 octane gas, I'll have to look at the rating on the pump the next time. Although I have seen a few stations that have what they call a super octane gas available at the pumps, I believe our local Sunoco station has that available here in central Pennsylvania.
