Default A little tip for everyone!

Im sure you all have heard about the "Engine Restore" stuff for you engine oil additive. It is suppose to restore compression back to normal, and decrease friction. Well, i figured that the can for a V8 is only $8, so why not try it. I have access to a shop with a compression test machine. I have a 98 5.2L w/ 93k on it. it should be about 9.1:1 compression, well 5 of the cylinders were right about at that (8.5-9.1), the other 3, were a little less, 6.8 in one, 7.2 , and 7.9. Why some of them were ok, and some not, i have no idea, but anyways... we changed the oil and added the restore. i drove thru 2 oil changes, each time using the restore (~5000 miles), then ran the test again. sure enough compression restored! At first i was a little skeptical, but it works believe it or not. Compression in all 8 cylinders was anywhere from 8.8-9.1, way better gain than expected. I would have to think that this should work for everyone. I just recently got the 2nd test done, so from now on, i will be adding that $8 can every oil change. Im sure it will help restore my HP and TQ, as well as improve the life of the engine. Again, i just decided to test this stuff in the beginning of summer, and now it believe it works. Go get yourself a can of it, its worth the money! The only noticable difference in driving is that it seems to idle a little smoother. you do not notice gains in performance or anything like that, but the numbers show that the engine is more efficient and "healthier".

Dont forget...

this is one of many posts about the benefits of engine restorers. good to see people are making gains with such a cheap investment. i have tried half a can of seafoam in mine....can't really say it made any noticable difference, but it sure did put on a smoke show

Will give it a try, also wanted to keep this near the top so everyone can see it. Sounds like a Fast / Cheap way to enhance performance.
