quick question about off-road ram
I have been told by many people that if i put 4.10 gears in my truck, i will notice it going down the road when im hi-way driving. they are saying my engine will be running to fast. Those are teh same gears as in the off-road package, and i was wondering if anyone has that truck with stock tires on it, or at least close to stock, how are the RPMs at 80mph. is it really that bad? Thanks guys

I have an 01 with the Off Road Package and 4.10 gears, been a few weeks since I've been on the Interstate but I think I was usually runnin around 2500 on the tach at 80mph, which aint bad, but mileage sucks, ususally around 11 or 12 at that speed

http://www.differentials.com/calc.html
This site has a calculator for wheel sizes and gear ratios. I think it comes out to just over 2500 rpm at 80 mph

He doesnt have 33s he has a stock 265 or 245 tire. big difference when it comes to rpms and gas mileage.
If the 4.10s came from the factory with 4.10s than there will be a tag on your differential that will say it. I dont recal 1500s coming with 4.10s. I do know that they put 3.73s in for towing packages. so the easiest way is to look on the tag or call the dealer for vehicle specs.
