Default Steering Wheel Audio Controls.

I just put a Alpine 9830 in my 01 Dodge Ram and miss the steering wheel controls already. I was looking at these two adapters

the first one says it's for Alpines but also said it has to have a wired remote and my doesn't it is wireless so I'm thinking I will need the second one. I'm just wondering if anyone is using them and how they work? Do they work as well as the factory stereo does with them? I was worried with the wireless remote one that it would not reach to it half the time but idk. Just wondering if anyone had used one and how they work?
