CEL & code P1740?

Default CEL & code P1740?

I went to get ice cream and killed the truck so i could hear the drive up speaker. when i started the truck myCEL was on. I got home and did some reading and tried the on off thing with the ignition. And even though it isnt soppossed to work i got the code P1740 on my odometeter. Before i go to Autozone can any of you tell me what this code is?

Yes, it pertains to a 2000 as well, it indicates a problem with the torque converter clutch solenoid, inside the transmission...that tsb states it may just be a "false" code and recommend flashing the pcm to correct it...it also may be an actual problem with the solenoid or wiring, or the torque converter itself...I have not had any experience with that code, so wait and see what other members have to say about it...or do a little reading in the meantime
