2001 Ram 5.9 Ambient Temp Sensor
Just bought a 2001 Ram 5.9 And the outside temp reads at -40 and was told it was probably the ambient temp sensor. I couldn't find the sensor to save my life. It doesn't really bother me too much but would like to have everything working. Any ideas where I would locate the sensor?
The ambient temperature sensor
is a variable resistor mounted to a bracket that is
secured with a screw to the underside of the hood
panel near the hood latch striker in the engine compartment.
Locate the ambient temperature sensor, on the
underside of the hood near the hood latch striker
If I ever figure out how to get pictures from the online manual, I'll start posting them. From the diagram that was listed, open the hood and it should be bolted right on the striker.
Figured out the pictures. Use this link to get there. https://dodgeforum.com/m_534697/mpag.../tm.htm#534700
