Default Death Flash?

So i am wondering what exactly this death flash is and what it does to your truck. Also How do you know if you have it. Some of the problems that people talk about sound like mine but i know nothing about that or what to do about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

death flash is when the dealer would retard the timing to help stop knock from the plenum gasket leaking rather then fixing it. it makes the truck feel like it has no power. look on the PCM and it should have a sticker on it if it got death flash. i dont remember exactly what it says but Im sure someone will tell you.

Once again your rushing to blame the tech.
The tech doesnt just get to go in and change the timing. If this flash is available it, it is because DCX ENGINEERS decided it was the right thing to do.

But I have never heard of a "death flash" - obviously that is not what its called, but I never heard that terminology anywhere.
