the power goes through a fairly heavy relay - so you should be fine.

i would think the wires are fine to swap over to your new lights.

Yes, i have seen it done. one thing that is recommended however is that you splice in a fuse in the wire since the fuse that the fog lights are hooked up to is pretty weak. Again, dont know for certain, i havent tried it, but my dads 98 sport he did that too with some sort of a fancy aftermarket fog light in place and had to put a fuse in line since he kept blowing the one in fuse box. again, we dont know for sure, but it worked....

so i guess you could just wait until its done to see what happens, not like splicing a fuse takes any brains or anything

I agree, you should be safe. I like the additional fuse idea.

But if you want to play it safe, you can always put a relay and activate it through the original wiring.

It should set you back less than 10 bucks in a relay and a couple of wires. I would use 12 gauge wire, Just a thought

make sure the wire is heavy enough. i used some small guage wire and somehow it burnt up the actual switch itself in the dash.

these are the lights imbuilding into the bumper. there only 55 watts so i think they should be alright.
