crappy steering
Here's my question,if you disconnect the steering shaft from the column wouldn't you be able to sit in the cab and rock the wheel around looking for play?. I'd like to here from other people that have used this.
I would suggest that if you remove the steering shaft, you don't do too much "rockin". Also keep in mind that you can demolish a clock spring without knowing it happened.
Gool luck.

Sorry, I should have explained better. Do not turn the wheel. But try to move it up and down and side to side. You sure don't want to spin the wheel with the shaft disconnected. I don't know, I'm just thinking about this rock solid thing and how it works. It seems kinda (scamy) to me.
But I don't know, this is the first time I've heard of it.
