Default Not driving for awhile

I am leaving for college next sunday and the Dodge will be sitting for awhile. The next time i will be able to drive it will be christmas break when i come home and renew the registration. I will be home a weekend here and there and will start it up, but do not know how often that will be. Do any of you have any advice, like adding things to it (fuel stablizer etc...). I will fill the tank up all the way so there is no moisture bulidup in the tank. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Dodge, All I have ever done to any vehicle that I know will be sitting for extended periods of time is to add 16 oz of MMO to the oil and 16 oz of MMO or Lucas Fuel Stabilizer with the fuel and put a motercycle trickle charger on the battery so it doesn't go flat and possibly freeze in the winter. Also keep your stereo no at a low volume so the your truch doesn;t get lonley while you are gone. LOL

If it's sitting in the sun, a windshield shade will protect the dash and keep it cooler. Check your anti-freeze to make sure it's up to par. Avoid parking it on the grass, that will cause rust underneath. Put it on gravel or pavement. Bounce fabric softener sheets supposedly keep rodents away. Stick some in the engine compartment and in the cab. Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer is another good fuel stabilizer. Wash and wax it before you leave if you have time. An RV site like this on http://www.rv.net/forums/index.cfm is a good reference. Do a search on "winterizing". Many of the same ideas apply to campers as well as to vehicles, especially if the threads concern motorhomes. Good luck in college, I'm glad those days are behind me, maybe .
