Default Clutch chatter help

I just purchased a 2000 V6 Ram 1550 5 speed for $5990 with 66K miles. Everything on the truck is clean and works great. But the only thing I have noticed is when I release the clutch in neutral, the clutch sounds like it is chattering. I think it sounds like a dry throwout bearing but I am no expert. i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what this could be. It doesn't make the noise when I push the clutch in.
Thanks

Could be pilot bearing in the fly wheel. But most likely it the trans input shaft bearings.
I had a Dakota with the same problem.
If it was the throwout bearing it would make the noise with the clutch pushed in.

Are the trans input shaft bearings inside the trans or outside of it by the clutch?

Sorry to say . But there inside.
I rebuilt my trans and replaced the bearings then. It was a B!tch. And not worth it. next time I will get a junkyard one and try my luck with that.
