Default Newby, with a few questions

I have a 2001 1500 quad cab short bed 4X4, it has the 5.2L and a 5 speed tranny. The truck has 75K on it now and although it runs great i am thinking performing a tune up to it.

Any recommendations for plugs and wires?
Any recommendations for a new cap and roter?
Anything else you would recommend for the tune up?

I usually use bosch platinum plugs and napa or checker wires, i am just checking to see if there are some better options

Thanks

welcome to the forum
Dont use bosch platinum plugs. go with a cooler plug like the autolite 3923. get a cap that has brass plates in it. Switching over to synthetic fluids is always a great idea. anyways, you will get lots of respones im sure as this is a common subject, so hopefully that will mean lots of help. Good luck, and dont hesitate to ask anything as there are tons of knowledgeable people who use this forum.

I have only used Rotella in diesels. I use Castrol Syntec 5-30 but I know some of the other guys are using Royal Purple and Mobil 1. Its really a preference thing but as far as I know they only make Rotella in 15-40 weight so unless you are using alot of oil and have really low pressure I wouldn't reccomend it at all. The Autolite plugs are very inexpensive I think they were like $1.09 a piece when I bought mine. I wouldn't recommend them if you have a relatively stock engine. They wil help with pinging if you have any problems with that. I would just go with a set of Champion Truck Plugs. As far as cap and rotor, brass is the key word, it will last alot longer. I have Accel wires on my truck, they are expensive but I really like them. My only reccomendation is to stay away from AutoZone's Durlast parts. Try NAPA or Oriellys. Good Luck
