I mounted one amp behind the driver seat and the other behind the passenger seat. My power wire is ran under the carpet and up behind the back panel into the amps and power cap which is mounted on my box.

is removing the drivers seat as easy as taking out those few bolts in the floor?

i didnt pull my carpet to run my wires....i just cut a slit in the carpet where i need the wires to come to cut a slit(if needed) from where they were running from and i tightly tape one wire at a time to a straightened out metal coat hanger and pushed it to the other hole and pull them through one by one just like that.....wasnt hard at all.

So would under the backseat be a bad idea?
under the backseat would be fine as long as there is air flow and/or 3 inches of space on each side of the amp

i mounted mine on the rear cab wall, drivers side. predrilled the holes and siliconed them when placing the screws.
the wiring is underneath the plastic piece at the doors., across and then under into the firewall/and up to the stereo.

pics in my gallery for reference.

My '95 was set up with 2 tens and the amp under the backseat. I had another amp to push the 6x9s in the doors mounted behinde the back seat on the cab wall... be sure to seal your screws with silicone.

The seat comes out with the 4 bolts, use a lifting motion to lift the back part off of "hooks" that anchor it to the cab wall.
