Default 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 1999 engine

I just bought a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.2 L engine that was blown, I want to replace it with a 1999 5.2 L engine. What kind of problems will I encounter? Thanks.

None, as long as you use the computer, wiring harness, and sensors from the '95 engine.

Now that I think about it, you might run into an issue with the EGR valve. You'd have to swap that from your '95 motor to the '99 motor.

your best bet is to yank the intake off your '95 and swap it over to the '99. the '95 should have an egr valve whereas the '99 wont. the fuel rail & injectors (injectors only actually)... will be different (maybe) there are 2 different style injector connectors...

Is there a difference with the cam from a 95 to a 99?
