The 96's wheelbase is 138.7"

The 93's wheelbase is 131"

You're going to run into more than a few problems with this swap [&:] not just with the wheelbase...but with mount locations...wiring...and possibly the width of the frame.

Good luck!

Problems will occur because they changed the wiring harnesses for the 2nd generation Rams. It's fine that you have both harness', but I don't think the 93 harness will fit in the 96. You will also have an issue with mount location and frame length, as stated before. I am unsure of the frame width. All I know is there were frame width changes made between 94 and 96.

Just out of curiousity, why are you swapping the newer body to the older frame?

do you think there be anyway around the harness'? i'm swapping the newer body on the older frame because, thats probably easier then tring to put the cummins in the 96.. cause then i would have to change axles.. the body mount no problem..my old man can can fab something up..thats what he specializes in pretty..same with the length of frame, we will put a the rest on if need to be.. so all i need to know now..what all wiring needs to be hooked up on the 96

Like I said...I don't know what other wiring would need to be swapped. That's why you'd need to find someone that knows their wiring for this task. I know it won't be the same, but I don't know what changes need to be made to make it work. You're going from one generation truck to a another. [&:]

It would probably be easier to swap it the other way though. Put the drivetrain and suspension under your current truck. It's been done before. There's a write-up on pavement sucks about it. It would be easier to straighten out the engine wiring (with a 96 Cummins harness) rather than straightening out the cab wiring. Just my opinion.

so if i was to purchase a 96 12 valve harness from mopar..or where ever that would work too right..like still put my body on the drive train but get a newer wiring harness, the reason why i say that is becuase this winter the truck is getting a body job..pretty much restore, so i have to take the body off the frame anyway, to sandblast and paint frame..this way when i take the body off the 93 frame i can sandblast the frame paint and this winter i just have to do body.
