If there are 4 bolts holding the PULLEY (not the fan or clutch) on, then you have a bolt on. If you don't see any bolts, and the face of the pulley is smooth, then you have a press on.

i should also mention that when you do it yourself (we do have a DIY in the DIY section thanks to steve) that some clutch fans are left handed threads, and some are right handed...[&:]

well thanks for the info. not real sure what i should do. i've only changed the oil and replaced the battery in a vehicle before...so not real sure if i should be trying it replace the water pump by myself. anyone know any good, honest, mechanics around the fort worth area that aren't gonna charge me an arm and a leg?

I've done mine before and it's really not that hard, just alittle time consuming. Make sure your read what you need to do first and don't forget to replace the seal as well.
