Default Stock infinity amp

I have a 99 dodge ram with a stock infinity system, which also has an amp. Does any one know where this amp is located at? I need to find it so I can replace it. I called my dodge dealership and they don't really know where. They said somewhere under the dash or under the seat. Does anyone know where exactly it is or where I could find out information on this. Thank you.

I'm not sure about the 99, but my 04 had it mounted on the firewall, behind the glovebox. It looked like a major pain to remove, so I bypassed mine. Good luck.

On mine the door speakers have things (sorry because I don't know what they are) mounted on the speakers. I think they could be amps of some sort.

Welcome to Dodge Forum by the way.

YEP! Silverram had it right, the amps are on the front speakers. Goofy as hell if ya ask me, and makes it darn near impossible to change to new speakers w/o replacing with all new speaker wire, basically changing out your entire system, which is what I'm doing btw. The infinity system speaker wires go from the HU to the front speakers, then from the front speakers to the tweeters and the rear speakers. The "amps" are also riveted to the speaker, making it almost impossible to remove them w/o damaging the speaker. Full system upgrade and all new everything is the only way to go, imo.

I tried to swap in some new speakers and saw that set-up and I was like screw that. I actually hooked the new speaker up and could tell a difference without the amp on the side i swapped. So theres not too much to be gained without re-doing the whole system IMO.
