Air flow from vents for heating and a/c
Greetings,
I spent $800 replacing the a/c evaporator a week and a half ago and today the air flow from the vents suddenly is mainly coming out of the floor vents. The air does slightly divert to the correct vents as I change the control ****, but regardless of which position the **** is in, the air is mainly on the floor. I can visually see the vacuum motor arm move when I switch from a/c max to defrost and I can hear a slight vacuum hiss, but the majority of the air continues to flow from the floor vent. I don't know if it is a vacuum problem or the blend doors. I'm not mechanically inclined enough to check the blend doors and I don't know how to find or check the vacuum lines. Would someone please explain to me the vacuum lines or any other possible reason why you think this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this happen to me several times. I am not sure what year your Ram is but on my 95', down on the floor, in the middle front of the tranny "hump" to the right of my 4x4 shift and directly under where the dashboard ends, there is a cover for the airbag module and one other module too. It says "SRS" on it, I think. Behind that cover is another vacuum servo. It has a long, white, plastic arm that may not have been hooked up. It's a bitch to see under there. It's even tougher to get to. Watch and see if it moves. When it pulls towrds the drivers side, you should be able to see if the white actuator arm is attached.
You better use the force to get to it......LOL.
Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback and advice TMS and Diesel. I'm going to give the shop hell a second time TMS, however, the first go around the mechanic told me by putting the shell together that secured the doors. I'll also check for the other vacuum servo on my 2001 Ram that you mentioned Diesel. Thanks again!
