Change out your Vehicle Speed Sensor (the one on the top of the rear diff). It sends speed data to the PCM. When it's bad, it won't throw a CEL or a code but it WILL give those indications. Sometimes the speedo quits entirely (mine did).

Hi everyone. I have a 1999 Ram 1500 QC 4x2 w/ the 5.2 and 83K on it. This just happened to me too! My ABS and parking brake light is now on and my speedometer totally doesn't work! My brakes feel fine though. Would that sensor you are talking about have an effect on the ABS and Brake light too? Thanks!

Hi again. I just came back from the Dodge dealer. Is indeed was the VSS. Cost installed out the door was $85, incl. labor. FYI, my check engine light came on too on the way to the dealer. Have them install the sensor first so they don't charge you for the code scan. Thanks everyone!

dont waste $85 on a dealer.

i need the same sensor, i broke mine when i put a differnt axle in the rear of my truck. i located the sensor, brand new, for like $32 from www.rockauto.com.

install it yourself it is TOO easy to put in... theres only 2 nuts you need to take off, and it just pushes in, and you connect the pigtail connector. you're done. EASY.
