Default Oil filter question

Hey I'm wanting to change my oil over to mobil 1 synthetic blend and run it to about 5,000 miles. do i need to change the filter at 2,500-3,000 miles or can I just get the mobil one filter and leave it on for 5,000. My truck is a 96 ram with the 5.9L and no leaks

I never saw the point of changing one without the other. If you're gonna get dirty ... do `em both. Leave it on.

I don't run a blend ... I run straight Castrol Syntec 5w50. Probably nothing wrong with Mobile 1. There's a big debate over what filter to run (hasn't there always been). I run dual remotes (big ones) and extend changes out to 20k+.
