Default started the custom bumper build

well i started making my new bumper. im also buying a 12,000 pound milemarker winch. i have a feeling i might need some coil spacers and dual shocks after this. all the brackets and winch supports are made out of 1/2 and 3/4 plate. the rest of its going to be made out of 3/16 plate. I also bought some hella lights to put in it. ill update on pics as it gets completed. its going to be powdercoated silver once its done.

here are the brackets for the winch. this part alone weighs more then the stock bumper. then the plate thats im using. ( they left it out in the rain for a day and thats what happened to it.) then a pic of the bumper im copying

3/4" plate? Damn, I'm all for overkill,(guilty of it myself every time I build something), but 3/4 inch seems a bit much. Been bouncin a bumper idea around in my head for a while now and just can't pull the trigger. Good luck.

most of it is 1/2. only one part is 3/4 and its not attached to the bumper. i justed welded it to the frame where that first cross memeber is too strengthen the hell out of it. also the only other parts of 3/4 are just small loops to connect the shackels too.

I've been wanting a dual shock rig for years. Even though it's for the street, I use the shocks on this thing to stiffen the ride. I replaced the stock crap at 500 miles with 275 PSI gas charged. Two would be better. Most people want "smooth and comfortable" ... I like to know I'm in a truck.

id like dual shock mounts to mainly move my shocks to the outside so when i get around and put on the adjustabe RS9000's i can actually get in ther and dial the ride... as oppposed to getting th e onboard air controller thats like a few hundred

The only dual set-ups I've seen maintain the one on the inside of the spring and then add one behind.
