Default doing front end overhaul soon, not sure where to buy parts.

hey guys, i have a '97 dodge ram 1500 4x4 w/ the 318ci. i just got this truck a little over a month ago and when i went to check the front brakes to see how much life they had left on them, i noticed that the caliper bolts on both calipers were completely seized and two of them were broken. i tried the reverse threader. i drilled the hole in the center of the bolt and inserted the reverse threader, but i had no luck and damaged the tool. i've decided that when i do the work i'm going to just cut the caliper bolts so go from there

my real concern is i'm not sure if the 12-point bolts that hold the hub to the spindle are seized as well, and if they are, I want to just start over with new parts, but i can't find them anywhere. it's probably my poor web-surfing skills, but if you know of anywhere where i can get new spindles and hub assemblies that would be awesome.

thanks guys,

andrew

If all you are doing is the brakes, why do you want to pull the hubs? The rotors just fall off on a 1/2 ton 4x4 ... once you get the calipers off, of course.

EDIT: Sorry ... just read the header ... look here: http://www.makeitmopar.com

yea i know the caliper slide off the rotor, as they do on most vehicles, but because i'm going to have to cut the bolts, i'm still going to have the ends of the bolts stuck in the hub. i checked makeitmopar.com and couldn't find it, doesn't mean its not there though, i'll give them a call tomorrow i guess. thanks.

No, I mean the rotors just slide off the hubs ... on the 3/4 and 1-tons, the rotors are pressed on WITH the hubs. Much tougher job.

Once you cut the bolts, you can't extract the stubs? Then clean up the holes? Looks like these hubs are about $250-$300 a copy.

For some strange reason, hubs are listed under Body Parts (Collision) - Front Suspension - Brake Components - Hub and Bearing - 1/2 Ton. You think they would be listed under Mechanical.
