Default IAC Question

If I install a new IAC, do I have to remove the throttle body or can I just remove the screws on the old IAC and install the new one.

Thanks for the help. Where is the best place to buy one? Autozone has the Wells brand for about $46.

Default RE: IAC Question

You don't have to remove the tb, but if the end of the IAC has a bunch of carbon you will need to clean the tb hole pretty good, a lot easier with it off. Only four bolts and a $1.50 gasket. Mine would idle fine but try to die for a second if I took my foot of the gas quick. Replced the IAC a couple of times before I figured out it was running rich and getting a black sooty build up where the IAC seat in the tb. Took it out, cleaned it up, ran fine.
