Tonneau Cover?
I have the opportunity to grab a Tonneau pretty cheap. I have been wanting one pretty badly to reduce the drag back there as I don't use the bed to haul my camping gear anymore, I bought a camper. The only issue, and the point I need clarification on, the tonneau for sale is off a 2004 QC Short bed. I know the beds are roughly the same size, but I don't know that it will fit. Can anyone rectify this for me before I purchase this unit?
I don't know if they will match up or not. I know that the beds are a little bit different. I gave my plastic bed liner to a guy with a newer ram and he had to cut it up to get it to work. Call the dealership or a custom parts place to see if they are the same.
yoiu could go over to the 3rd gen section and ask if someone could run out and grab measurements .. side to side front to back and corner to coner to see if its close to your truck.. that would be th ebest way and easiest.. i would assume them 3rd gen wierdos would give ya a hand
I can say for sure the beds are different on the trucks with 8 ft beds, probably are on the 6 ft beds as well. My father-in-law is currently using a topper from his second gen on his new 3rd gen. It looks like *** and doesn't really line up very well, but he is cheap so it works for him. It might depend on what type of tonneau it is. If it is the fiberglass kind that fits over the bed rails for water tightness, i bet it won't work. If it is the snap kind, I doubt it would work. If it is the tri-fold type, or the roll up type, it might work.
