Default need help about egr valve

i have a 1998 sport 5.9, i was invovled with an auto accident with it, while in the body shop they said the check engine light was on and they checked for codes. they didnt tell me what code it was but told me it was for the egr. i down loaded the manual but havent found anything in it about the egr valve. does it even have an egr valve? i saw a post in the faq's sticky that someone was looking for it on there 96 and someone replied it may not have one. if it has one, can someone please tell me where its located. thanks in advance.........josh

I hate to tell your shop this but a 1998 ram w/ 5.9 gas engine doesn't have an egr valve.

the body shop only scanned it because the check engine light was on. the check engine light wasnt on before i got hit but they wont do anything about it because i have 115k miles on the truck. i used my buddies auto zone scanner and it pulled only one code and it was for a speed sensor thats mounted on the rear. i was told by a dodge tech that it is common for these to go bad
