I have a 1997 Ram 1500 with the 318. When I try to release my hood it feels likw the cable is active but the hood will not release to the safety latch position. I can reach my arm up through the fog light opening and manually pull the safety release but the hood is still stuck. Any suggestions where I might try to pry this thing open at without damaging anything ?? Thanks in advance.

 

You might try making a fist and hitting the top of the hood while you get a helper to pull the latch from inside the truck. I have done this on other vehicles in the past, just depends on how bad it is stuck.

 

yea dude just pull up on the hood. It happened on my subaru, it would unlatch but then it wouldnt pop up. so i just pulled it up then it came. once i got it opened it sprayed it with wd-40. never stuck again Hope this helps
